It is a figure almost nobody quotes: the number of distinct, incompatible state machines that a single dollar of stablecoin must traverse to do productive work before it returns to its owner. On any given day, that number sits somewhere between thirty and fifty, depending on how generously you count the rollup ecosystem. It rises every quarter. It almost never falls. And in the euphoria of green candles, this quiet multiplication of ledgers is being mistaken for growth.

Watching the silence between the candlesticks tells you more than the candles themselves. Right now, that silence is saying something uncomfortable: this bull market is not scaling. It is slicing.
